Sara Annwyl is an artist, writer, performer and curator who works primarily with video, performance and the written word.
Annwyl is drawn to the concealed and repressed and is interested in notions of honesty. Her practice revolves around communication and reciprocity; the transmission and exchange of mood and thought. Her work often expresses her longing for a universe that responds directly to her state of mind.
Increasingly Annwyl is fascinated with confessional acts of emotional disclosure, and associated notions of dignity or its loss.
Annwyl is a process-led curator, usually working collaboratively outside the institution and at a grassroots level, often supporting artists in the creation of new work.
From 2012-2013 she co-founded and creatively directed ATTIC, a Cardiff gallery situated in a disused attic on Albany Rd and dedicated to developing new work about personal, cultural or scientific understandings of the mind . http://www.atticblogsite.wordpress.com
